Our medicinal chemistry group is part of the Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Therapeutic Chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences, University of Barcelona. We are dedicated to discovering novel bioactive agents to address therapeutic areas with significant unmet medical needs, focusing on developing innovative compounds for challenging conditions such as neuropathic pain and viral infections.

By integrating rational drug design, synthetic chemistry, and molecular pharmacology, we strive to develop highly selective and potent ligands for purinergic receptors and viral targets.

Additionally, we aim to create chemical biology tools to deepen our understanding of these targets, ultimately advancing ligand discovery and therapeutic innovation.
